We picked out Merlin from an ad in the newspaper. One day we just felt like getting another kitty, so we looked through the ads. Merlin was the last kitten there because he was asleep when the other kittens were chosen. He is now 9 years old and probably the smartest of all three cats! Merlin is a Japanese Bobtail. That breed is known for being incredibly smart. He understands words like "treat", "hungry", "nigh'-nigh'", as well as, "bug" and "birdie"! He also has a pretty cool new trick - he can catch "treats" in his paws and then eat them!!
