Restraints lifted.

Hello again -

Ok, in the spirit of trying to keep this blog as user-friendly as possible, I've lifted the "Only Members Can Post" option, meaning that anyone can leave a message.

If I get too many unknowns, or someone that's being a jerk and posting anything inappropriate, then I'll have to delete this blog and come up with something else 'cause I just don't think Blogger.com should force anyone who wants to use this to create a Google account.

So, what'll happen is this. If you open a message, or wish to leave a comment, you can do so, only your comment will appear from "Anonymous". Should you wish to create an "identity", then you'll be forced to create a Google account. It's not bad, or difficult to do, it's just annoying.

So when leaving a comment, or message, as "Anonymous", just sign your name at the bottom so we know who you are!

Thanks!

Blogger "Improvements"

For those of you that like to post here in this blog, first, let me apologize.

The free blog service that I use, Blogger, has instigated some new changes that I am powerless to prevent.

The most relevant is that if you want to post a message on here now, you have to change your old Blogger account over to a Google account, which means you have to sign up for that, on top of which once that's done, you'd have to resend me a request to have you added back to this blog.

So I'm toying with lifting the restriction on who can post in here 'cause I want to make this as easy to use as possible. However, if I do lift the restriction, then that means anyone could post in here. I don't know.

I think I'll start searching around for another blog system but I don't think I'm gonna find anything like this one. If you know of a free Blogging system, let me know!!

Bought a Tablet PC!

The Gateway CX201X Tablet PC
Here's what my new computer looks like! It's called a "tablet pc" due to the fact that the display can spin around and lay flat against the keyboard, essentially turning it into an electronic clipboard. Even comes with a stylus (pen) that you can use to draw or interact with the computer.

2 GB of RAM, huge hard drive, latest processor, all the bells & whistles. Man, I can't wait for this thing to show up!!

Last Saturday, HSN also had a similar tablet from Gateway on special. Both Keri & I ordered one. I get a call from HSN yesterday that apparently they didn't have enough of these tablet pcs to go around, so they cancelled my order. No offers to be put on a waiting list, or getting a rain check, etc. Just a "Sorry, dude, but you're S.O.L."

Needless to say, that's the last time I'll be ordering from HSN. Hopefully Keri's order is fine and she won't have any problems.

Moral of this story? Avoid HSN. Go with a respectable company. Use QVC.
