We can't do what??
The on-going saga with our sun room continues.
I was notified yesterday that our building permit was ready to be picked up. I'm thinking, "Great! About time for some good news!"
When I get there, I pay the fee, start to walk away when I see some red writing on the permit. It states that if I have an "egress" from the master bedroom to the patio (which I do) then we can't screen in the patio.
Say what?? It says all over the permit that these are the plans for a "Screened Patio". And it has the Approved stamp on it. Yet, they throw in a disclaimer that states, sorry Charlie, but no screened patio for you.
Well, I talked to Giliane about it and we both came to a decision. To HELL with them. We're gonna have it built and then screened. Then, when we go to sell the house eventually, we'll mention that the permit is for a non-screened patio, and if we have to, we'll remove the screens.
So as I write this, our ugly-ass eyesore of a room is getting torn down. Finally!!! They say they'll be done by the weekend. By Saturday at the very least. Then the roofer will be here a week from Thursday to put a new roof on. Pretty damn slick, huh???
UPDATE:
Here's a pic of what our patio looks like right now. No AZ room. Just an open patio. Looks weird, doesn't it??
Ain't it beautiful?? :) Even in a pile of rubble it looks better than it did!!
