Superman Returns!

Now I realize this is a total guy movie, but I'm curious just how many people are planning on seeing it? I think I can get Giliane to go see it with me, but I'm gonna have to do some bribing. Maybe go see Lake House with her.

The plot looks good. When I first heard they were going to make this movie, I was thinking that they were just going to bungle it. Delighted to be proved wrong! The special effects look really good. Even the soundtrack sounds pretty good. I'm really looking forward to seeing it!

So! Did I just make myself sound like a total nerd or is there anyone else out there that truly wants to see it? Come on now, be honest!

Ultimate vacations

You know, with our Disneyland vacation coming up here in a couple of months, I started to wonder what everyone's ideal vacation would be. So let's assume a few things.

1. The vacation will last two (2) weeks.
2. You can choose any destination you want.
3. You don't have to worry about taking time off from work, etc.
4. You can choose a standard hotel with a standard plane ticket to get there.
5. Can't go overboard. No first-class tickets, or hotel suites, etc.

So! Where would you go? Would you choose a cruise? Go to another country, or just to a different part of this country? As for me, here's what I'd do. And I can speak for Giliane, too. We'd go on a self-guided tour of Ireland, with side-trips to Scotland, Wales, and England. Can't go all the way over there and not see Stonehenge, or London, etc. No schedules, no tours, just exploring at our own pace.

Europe still ranks up there as the 1st place I'd love to go, obviously. Then maybe Australia, or New Zealand. Would love to see Wellington.

Apparently, there's a rumor going around in Giliane's workplace that there was some dissent about how early I went home from work a few days ago.

I was en route home when I called Giliane up to say hello when I heard the grumblings in the background that I had it too easy that day. So I told her to tell them that if they were nice to me, I'd make 'em a batch of cookies.

There was a general consensus of agreement on that one! Peanut butter was chosen by Sara. And the agreement was struck that I'd get to stay in the good graces of both Cassandra & Sara if I made some cookies.

Hey man, I want some written proof!! So we upped the duration of the good graces to 4 weeks and I had 'em write a contract!

A time for dads!

Happy Father's Day!

Today is the day that we honor the father figure(s) in our lives and thank them for all the things that they've done for us.

In my case, I want to thank Gary for being there for me. Teaching me to drive, shave, play jokes on my mom, etc.

I just got this from my in-laws, John & Caryl, today. Isn't this a cool letter opener?? He's going in my office! Giliane says that this sort of thing is right up my alley. Which it is. :)

Tired of channel surfing?

I can't believe how there's such a lack of good shows on tv.

Yeah, I do realize that this is the time of year that all we get is re-runs. But man alive, how many times can one person be expected to watch the same episode of CSI??

We thought we found some relief with that new show called "Cash Cab" on the Discovery Channel. Good show. However, there's not enough episodes of this show. Therefore, we've seen all those shows at least three times each. Takes the fun out of it when you know both the questions and answers. Another show that is on the Discovery Channel that we like is Mythbusters. Those guys have the best job in the world! They get to blow things up, set things on fire, and essentially have a good time doing things that everyone recommends that you don't do. **sigh**

One of Giliane's favorite shows, Hell's Kitchen, started up again a few days ago. That chef guy sure can be a jerk. Cursing and swearing at his "underlings". I would have decked him long ago. As you can tell, I'm not a fan of this show. But I know my darling sis o' mine likes this show. Must be a female thing. :)

This is DEFINITELY Jeff's cat!

Approximately six years ago, there was an infamous incident where Nemesis destroyed a marionberry pie that was purchased for Jeff. Since then, we have not purchased another marionberry pie for fear of the cat.

Today, our fears were realized when I purchased a pre-birthday marionberry pie. After dinner, Jeff served us each a slice and we sat down to enjoy it. Jeff's crazy cat comes RUNNING inside from the AZ room, nose in the air because she can smell The Pie. She proceeds to climb up me to get to the pie.

I decided to give her a little taste to see if that's what she was really after. The cat then licked her face for 15 minutes.

Like father, like kitty. We found it so amusing, Jeff decided to give her another taste. Picture below.

Not only are we going to Disneyland at the end of September, we're also going to include a trip to Knott's Berry Farm!

It's been at least 15 years since I've been there. Giliane has never been. What are the chances I can get her to go on the old Parachute ride?? :)

She has expressed interest in the log ride. She's not much into going upside-down. And their website shows pics of all new rollercoasters that I haven't been on. Don't know how I'm gonna get her on 'em, but I'm gonna try!!

What is everyone's favorite ride at Knotts?

It's official, sports-fans! We're going on vacation for our 7th anniversary in September.

So! Where should we go? That's an easy one! We're gonna try to go to Disneyland! It's been 5 years since we were last there. If we do make it over there, I'm gonna try to see about getting Giliane over to Knott's Berry Farm. I loved that place as a kid. She's never been there and she grew up in California!! Crazy, I know!! :) Her boss, Cassandra, has been encouraging her to give it a try. It's well worth it, babe!
